Travel dates!

It’s what all families dream of while in the referral phase of their adoption. Travel dates may come with your child referral, but more often you will receive trip dates after you have accepted your referral. These dates are usually within 2 weeks of accepting a referral and are only rarely flexible, so prospective parents must be ready to drop everything to travel during this portion of the process.

Frank Adoption Center helps families prepare for their trip to Russia. Depending on the region you will be visiting, you may drive, take a train or fly into region. While in region, you may stay in a hotel or with a host family, all of which is arranged by the coordinator with the family's assistance. However, you are responsible for flights to and from Russia, Kazakhstan, or Kyrgystan and for your hotel stay in Moscow, Almaty, or Bishkek. Families may make these arrangements independently or with a travel agency.

To be safe though, keep in mind that all travel dates are subject to change. Many people and governmental agencies have to coordinate in order for travel to be successful, so it is best to remain as flexible as possible with your travel arrangements. If you do choose to make travel arrangements independently, make certain that your flight tickets are as changeable and refundable as possible. If your dates do change, airline change fees can be exorbitant!
